Police
confirmed that British celebrity writer Peaches Geldof died on April 7 2014, due
to unusually high levels of heroin in her blood. She was at her home with her
son Phaedra aged 11 months. Her
husband Thomas Cohen raised the alarm when she
did not answer her phone.

Thomas
is a musician and was looking after 23-month-old Astala, their eldest son, at
the time of the incident. Police detective Fotheringham confirmed that heroin
was likely to be the cause of death.

Her
mother Paula Yates was a television show presenter. In 2000, she too had
succumbed to heroin overdose.
