Understanding the Power of Blogging

Writing is not complicated -- we make it so through improper planning
Brahmaputra

Creating the flow of ideas
The goal is the important. If you try to do something that is not customary, you may end up writing a lot of nonsense. For example, if you start with trees saying, “ Trees are green and need water” and then go on to write about dogs, the reader will find it difficult to connect the two.

Making it interesting
Compartmentalize the ideas into two or three groups, say, – a) Soil Conservation b) Crop Rotation and c) Need for adequate water supply; now, you have the flow established. One can make any topic into subdivisions that are of interest. If you are creating a home study group with your friends, you can set up group leaders who arrange the day’s lesson or source the material for the study.

Never Limit yourself
Blogging may transcend to heights you never imagined. Words are powerful and if used in the correct sense, they let the reader see the worlds beyond the black and white. You need many facts to back up what you are saying:
     a)    Except for Narmada, Tapti and Indus, which flow into the Arabian Sea, most of the Indian rivers flow into the Bay of Bengal.
     b)   Rivers flowing into the interiors of India are:
a.     Musi River (Hyderabad)
b.     Ghaggar River (Rajasthan)
c.      Luni River (Rajasthan)

Earning Money through Blogs
One can make money too through writing. You can sign up with Google AdSense and they let
Yamuna
you keep the money you make through your writing, at least a percentage of it.

FIERY SKIES

Every article deals with a theme or an idea. Certain words express the idea without any explanation while there are some subjects, which defy any clear representation.

Choosing the subject
If you are a freelance author, you have the freedom to choose the subject. If you are a writer, writing for some company or a particular person, it is difficult to find an independent topic to exploit. Explore the subjects that crop up on a regular basis in your life. It may be something silly like the price of vegetables and the reason for their rise. On the other hand, it may something deeper like environmental awareness

This may sometimes be hard to see, they may be lying underneath the daily activities or interspersed with the special tasks that you do. These may the daily chores you do for your mom or the lessons that you prepare. However, bear in mind, you have a good flow of ideas only if you are conversant with the subject.

Developing the structure
There exist prescribed formats for writing. Just as you have poetry that is different from essays, the styles for writing must follow a certain format, they must use certain words and follow a pattern in the formation of paragraphs and in the overall presentation. You will come to know about them when you begin writing.

Keeping the audience occupied
If you deviate from the audience point of view, they will find something more interesting to read. Keep them occupied; let them read the things they like to discuss about, fight over and form opinions about – it creates a hub of interest around your chosen topic. One question could be whether you like cats. Or whether every household should have a cat. If you have cats in the house what is your relationship with them?

Finish the topic with a question
This is the most important point of the article. If you lose out here, the reader will never remember your article. However, if you raise a question round the topic, the reader gets involved. The next time he comes across the question, he remembers the place where he read your article. Here the case would deal with the cat or the dog and whether you like them or not. Would you want one following you around?

In addition, it is important to wind up before the reader has come to an opinion. If you let the article flow on and on and on, the reader would switch to the next page to read something else.

Creating Breaks
Short breaks are necessary in the article. It lets their minds wander and find the various debates and points of interest that your article present. This can be done structurally or visual presentation, in the form of paragraphs or using bullets and question format. If you ask too many questions, though, the article will look like a survey and will not attract any interest. And of course, the main thing is – to start writing.
