Flavor of Blogging

Content creation can be categorized according to the title. If you are writing about automobiles, you are targeting the car owners. If you write about food, your target audience would be the new housewife, the hobby chef and gourmet cooks.
If there are 500 people reading daily, you can expect 345 people to have cars. Similarly, you can expect 400 people to show interest in food.
If you write about stamp collection, or water color painting, you will not have too many readers. (Just for example, you will have around 50 people).
You see how content influences number of readers. Within each category, there will be subclasses. Say, your are writing about  garden. One section of the readers will have interest in maintaining the soil, while yet another group will want to know which flowering plants will be suitable for you them.
The only way to find out how many people are reading about flowers and how many are interested in the soil is to have an interactive section. For instance, you could provide a comment box or an opinion poll. Even if only one in ten people bother to vote or comment, you still get a fairly good idea of the interests of the readers.
Over time you learn to flavor your blog to cater to the long term readers alone. That is when you will have a steady following. Building up a readership base helps develop blog ranking among search engines.
One last point. If you need to migrate to another site, you might have to change your niche topics if you want good readership. Instead of writing about gardens and food you might have to write about fashion and handicrafts.

Write for your worth

Articles do not happen, they are created. In the state of creation, there are no rules save one – the reader should have interest in the material you present. So, what is your worth really?
The only way to find out is by writing. When you write concentrate on the interest. Reader interest is of two kinds. One, he or she wants to learn something from your site. Two, the site presents many options that the reader never knew about previously.
To keep your reader interested in your article, you have to keep the flow alive. The content must be fresh and there has to be a definite start point and finish point in the article. You begin with the presentation of the idea, then you elaborate and finally you finish the article. In the process, you invite the reader to participate in the discussion.
That is, try to get reader interaction. If they like your article, they will like to make some comment or get in touch through email. After all, the world today is made more of email give and take than of roads and buses.
So, write for your worth, you might earn money if you do.
PS: Leave your comments in the box nearby.

Content Management Significance of SEO

Sitting for your examination

While writers do not mind writing on any topic under the sun, there are certain things they draw a line at. One such thing is quality of content. It is like sitting in the third class at school and moving on to the fourth grade. You are doing something new, you are learning something new and you are interacting at a new level.

How SEO helps

SEO is like a teacher who corrects your papers and grades them. The better you write, the higher is your grade. So why is there so much importance given to grade? The whole internet functions due to the search engines -- Bing, Google, Yahoo are all search engines that keep digging out documents, pictures and facts from all over the internet whenever someone searches for them. So WHAT?

Searching for content

It is like this. If you are searching for your color pencils in your house, you will look in the study where you keep your books. You will not search for them in your kitchen. In the same manner, the search engines will look in the most likely places for the answer to your question.

Grading content

It looks for content that is similar, "The elephant is large, it has dark skin and a long trunk through which it draws up water. The trunk also helps it to hold and haul things." So all the content that have these facts -- in any order -- will be called up. Then they will search for specific examples and locations within this matter. If someone has added -- "The elephant can be found in Asia and Africa." -- then that content will be given a top of the list preference. When the search engine displays the results, it will show this article on top of others. Got my point?

Writing your article

You have given more information -- information that is correct -- to be ranked on top of the search engine lists. This will give you more viewers at your site. More visitors means your site will gain popularity and will have a better click rate. Okay, that said let us move on to more serious things.

SEO and its importance

ABC of internet content is SEO. It is the rule to be followed for writing perfect articles -- perfect in the eyes of the search engine. If an article has good SEO, it will be selected first over the other articles present. Now WHAT IS SEO, PLEASE!!!

Search engine optimization -- SEO. Yes, it is as simple as that. The rules are:
1) Keep content unique
2) No grammatical errors
3) Use proper links

Writing becomes a Habit

Second nature is something that you do without really thinking. When we first begin to write, we need to organize our thoughts, scour the internet for content and revise all that we write. It is very much like riding a cycle or flying a kite for the first time... You need to concentrate but after a week or so you do it without thinking.
You understand the drift, making a habit of good things keeps your life ticking along wonderfully well. So, you should begin.
There are other aspects to writing like SEO, driving traffic and monetizing your web pages. There is nothing wrong in not monetizing your page or blog but I have monetized mine. I will be writing on these aspects in the next few blogs...so watch this space.

Write Content for Consumption

Maintaining quality should be the guide line for all content writers.

Content is Alive
So, where do we draw the line? Actually the content dies when there is nothing of use for the reader --- this I have already read, or no useful point is mentioned -- the reader must not leave the page feeling like this.
Content which is alive has new things, the latest gadgets and the latest news on offer. You certainly benefit from reading such articles.

Content is Unique
When you have something that no one else has, everyone wants it. This can be a recipe or the manner of application of fertilizer for your kitchen garden, method of making some toys or artwork, rare books or stamps you want to sell, flower arrangement for the vase, instruction for learning some new skill or game, or ideas for creating a better home or living environment. This list is not comprehensive; you may add anything you feel is different and believe me, everyone is and has unique ideas.

Content presentation is good
Good presentation is all about timing. It is like the slam dunk at the end of the exquisite dribble down the length of the court, like the ripples making its way across the moon-lit  lake, like the smile on the father's face as he sees the toddler defying gravity and take his

Pay Attention to Content While Blogging

The cat is cute, only because it has good soft skin. The dog is adorable, only because it is so friendly. Similarly, content is interesting, only when it has something the reader likes or wants.

There is a saying,"Content is King". Of all aspects of writing a blog, this perhaps is the most important one. We typify the content into three broad classes as:
a) Personal blogs
b) Commercial blogs
c) Social blogs
In the first class, accent is on personal satisfaction. In the second, only money matters -- everything in this blog class will deal with money. Finally, in the third class, the social interactive networking will take over. Here you will see people who belong to predetermined classes, interacting and passing on information.

First determine which type of blog you want to write. Then you can determine what you want to write about. In the personal blogs class, you will have these subdivisions:
  1. Ideas about things and people around you
  2. Ideas about future events and activities
  3. Details of products and articles on the market
  4. Your take on some film, book or personality
  5. Issues and debates prevalent in society
For personal blogs the best thing would be this type -- the blogger. You also have Tumblr for those with creative talent like drawing and Pixabay for those inclined to photography. Of course, this list is not comprehensive -- it gives you an idea of what direction you  are headed. You can develop the topic on your own. In the commercial section, the blogs will all be directed at means for making money. Here are some sites where you  can write for money.
  • Hubpages
  • iWriter
  • Wikinut

Easy to follow rules of blogging

For sure, there is a change in the world -- the change we see as the internet. You can reach out and touch people, mingle with them and share ideas. You eliminate the terror because of the closeness. You add an additional aspect of friendliness and make the world lovelier. But, is that all?

Blogging is like jogging in the morning. Some have it in them, others just cannot do it. Yet it is the progressive thing to do. It helps you maintain some social contact with like minded people -- it eliminates bad thought.

Fundamental approach to blogging

When you start blogging, you will wonder what to do and how to do it. Here is help. Just follow the guidelines mentioned below.

Open an account with blogger

This is discussed in the previous blog. Make an email account. Type gmail in the top box of the new page you open. Then write the name you want for your account. Your account becomes gerald@gmail.com. You now become eligible to begin a blogger account. Do it.

Finding the correct subject
Write to the point
Make interesting ideas
Talk to the heart

Every one has a slant, a leaning towards some topic. Some like fitness and exercise, while others like to write about the personal views of things and places
Yet what sells? Everything! If you put it right. Running around the tree might seem like fun but when we say something clearly -- I am writing about wedding cakes and nothing else -- the readers either switch to a new page or carry on reading. It gets those who have genuine interest to your site fast.
Now how big is your cake going to be? Does it have fruits and nuts? What decorations will you add? How fast can you deliver it (if you plan to sell it? These things keep the buyers looking.
Another thing is to eliminate the bullshit. "Actually, to tell you about another thing that is only for some people..." These do not sell." We also offer pink icing " sells.

Making Blogging Easy

For new comers, the world of blogging may seem intimidating. Indeed, there is plenty of competition but that only serves as a spur for the talented and willing. So what exactly is blogging?

Reasons for blogging

There are four main reasons for blogging:
  • Blogging as an pastime activity
  • Blogging for money
  • Blogging to build social contacts
  • Blogging to connect to the world

Create a blogging account

Perhaps the most important guideline to blogging is the reason why you want to blog.Let us begin with the basic. Go to gmail (type gmail in a new window) and create an account. Write some name -- alfred, domez, fred, or anything that comes to your mind to be your email address. So your email address becomes alfred @gmail.com. Actually, it would be a good reason to use your own name -- Muthu@gmail.com.

Now that you have created your email address, you need to start a blogging account. Go to blogger. Type blogger into the search bar and then create a blogging account. Give a good name for your blog-- your grandma's name is fine. Now you have to decide on what to write.

We will discuss this in the next blog. Happy blogging.
